The App life!

Life is always into some form of transformation. But the way Apps have entered into our DNA is something remarkable. In terms of inventions that made human life easy, Apps can be ranked at par with Edison's invention of illuminating the world. This simply illuminates our minds I think.

Almost half of the App users say that it helps them be organized and App is like a third hand. I too concur with them as an App user.

To start with, the most popular ones are game Apps, entertainment Apps and of course social networking Apps like Facebook. It looks like Apps have been there for ages, but it is just here since June 2007. Yes you are right, since IPhone. IPhone itself has about 11 Apps including calculator, camera etc. But then it wanted to go way further. So it went about launching 500 Apps in the first month and to its surprise it was downloaded about a million times. Now there are more than 100,000 Apps in existence and it is said to be growing.

Apps uniqueness lies in the way it is purchased. One need not go out or stand in queue to buy; it is just a click away from your App store in your phone.

There are many Apps that work wonders but a few of them that I am going to talk about could be a magic tool for everyone I believe.News Junkies can soak themselves into CNBC, Wall street Journal, CNN Money and also Associated press, The New York times etc.;Push notifications literally is an eye catcher. Men and women who are frugal can download coupon Apps and use its code in store or online. List Apps can keep you organized. Grocery lists or any task lists can be added and shared with your family members or friends to keep everyone updated about the current to do things. And the list goes on; some even have an App that alerts them where the cop is located, hidden or visible while driving. This helps them to slow down,obey traffic rules etc. Hilarious!

Apps have opened gates to many developers. A 13 year old has developed an App for practicing Math problems. It is promoted in schools simply by word of mouth. Most of the Apps are free, including the coupon Apps. They get the revenue from the companies or stores who put their coupon in. Some of them are just 99 cents and the price goes on. Even then, the App store generates revenue of about $200million a month.

It is said that it is going to be a billion dollar industry in a couple of years. But Apple's stringent way of approval process is making companies and App developers dismayed.Even then from the consumer point of view App is just the most convenient way of living in today’s world. It is there with you when you are dining or waking up or may be just chilling. Your IPhone is not bulky like a laptop that you can't hang around with it everywhere. And so I think App is not just a fad, it is here to stay long.
