The popular chaiwaala “Starbucks”
is starting a chain of juice centre. Starbucks always makes me wonder how one
can survive just selling coffee. But it is not only successful in increasing
its sales but also sells at premium.
Diversification is seen in many
industries. But what Starbucks is doing is unique. Coffee to Juice? So what made them think about this healthy
option? Many people in US are turning their eyes to healthy food habits. They
are going for juices as meal replacements and others drink as part of “cleansing”
diets.
The direct competition would be Jamba
juice. But Starbucks would also have to deal with McDonalds, who sells fruit smoothies
and juices along with other products. Starbucks will sell fresh and bottled
fruit and vegetable juices along with other food like salads and wraps.
Will this pioneer be able to penetrate
the $50 billion dollar health & food sector?
